It all started when the congregation of « Les Augustins » settled in the Abbey. The priority was to build the first buildings of the brewery, in 1139. The brewery was operational in 1550, under the abbey of Philippe d’Orjo, whose impressive tombstone is kept in the church. Refurbished in the sex. XVII and XVIII, the brewery is the oldest part of the Bethany’s buildings.

In 2015, a group of volunteers, under the name of « BEERTEAM » decided to launch a beer under the name « Cuvée d’Orjo », in memory of the first brewer. In the first academic year, nearly 9000 bottles were sold in multiple activities. In June of this year, the organization « Bières de L’Abbaye de Flône » was founded, with the social purpose of improving the schools in the area, support the educational projects and the heritage of the abbey.

Now, the brewery continues its ascent by launching the construction of its own brewery and by hiring its first employee.
